Created by Iris Addario, Jasmín Soto and Raquel Oviedo (UAM)

Workshop on linguistic discrimination created by Iris Addario, Jasmín Soto and Raquel Oviedo, university students participating in the Equiling Madrid project. The workshop was designed as a transformative action to curb linguistic inequality, and its creators taught it in a class at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. There, they explained what stereotypes and linguistic prejudices consist of, and presented examples of cases of linguistic discrimination and possible strategies to confront them. The ensuing discussion aroused much interest among the students, who contributed many other examples from their own linguistic experiences and personal experiences.
